David Spielman is the Executive Director of Healthcare Compliance at Affiliated Monitors, Inc. (“AMI”).  He came to AMI after serving as the chief ethics and compliance officer and in-house counsel for a regional health care system for 15 years and proving the value of an effective compliance and ethics program to internal stakeholders and external overseers on an ongoing basis.

At AMI, Mr. Spielman combines a practical approach with a passion for maximizing opportunities for improvement to his work as an independent reviewer and monitor.  Mr. Spielman’s previous experience as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Vermont gives him insight into the perspective and objectives of regulators and government agencies.  Similarly, his work as a trial lawyer who defended healthcare providers and facilities against claims of alleged medical malpractice and licensure violations gives him an understanding of the perspective and needs of those being investigated for or accused of providing substandard care, improper coding and billing practices, and/or regulatory/statutory violations.  Most recently, Mr. Spielman served as Vice-President of Corporate Integrity and Compliance and Associate General Counsel at Exeter Health Resources, a regional healthcare system in Southern New Hampshire that is a first-tier entity of Beth Israel Lahey Health. . .
