María Astigarraga has lead the development of Affiliated Monitors’ practice in Spain since 2015, providing monitoring and consulting services in compliance. She holds a degree in Economics and Business Studies from the Universidad Comercial de Deusto and is a Certified Professional in Ethics and Compliance (CCEP-I) by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE).

Prior to joining Affiliated Monitors, she was part of the strategy consulting department of KPMG, in Bilbao. In 2005, she co-founded the company B+I Strategy, which specialized in business strategy and competitiveness.

Throughout her professional career, she has developed many projects in strategy and organizational consulting, and in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility, business ethics, and risk management. She has worked in Spain, as well as Brazil, Mexico, Australia, France and the United Kingdom.

Her client experience ranges from listed companies, large industrial groups, family businesses, and public companies including Grupo Telefónica, Gestamp, Viscofan, AcuaMed, Louis Berger and Velatia.
