Sara Szwaja

Sara Szwaja is a Senior Data Analyst who joined AMI in February 2018.

Sara received her BA in Mathematics from Boston University, and a Master of Science in Oceanography from The University of Rhode Island.

In which of AMI's service areas have you worked? What are some of your most interesting cases?

My work with AMI is focused on our corporate service area. Currently, I work as a Senior Data Analyst in our handling of a matter for Herbalife. Previously, I also assisted in data related projects for a matter involving AT&T.

What aspect(s) of AMI's work are you personally most passionate about, and why?

Writing code to analyze data is a creative aspect of my job, and a passion of mine. As a Senior Data Analyst, my primary task is to develop scripts to analyze large data sets to determine client systems compliance with settlement agreements. I work with members of the AMI team from a broad range of different backgrounds (other analysts, database engineers, auditors, and lawyers) and offer data-based results that fulfill our monitoring responsibilities and substantiate conclusions within our reports to courts and federal agencies.

In what ways does your personal expertise complement our services?

Prior to becoming a data analyst, I was an actuarial analyst for 5 years where I developed my skills in data analysis, review, presentation, and teamwork. I worked with client’s employee and asset data to calculate retirement plan expenses and projected benefit obligations. My knowledge and love of coding was developed later when I returned to graduate school, where I wrote my own scripts to analyze my research results and develop numerical models to address outstanding questions in the geosciences.

AMI understands the important role of data in business operations and accordingly has employed an experienced data team to leverage client data to aide in our monitoring activity.

Based on your experiences, what would you like prospective clients to know about AMI?

The leadership at AMI understands the important role of data in business operations and accordingly has employed an experienced data team to leverage client data to aide in our monitoring activity and reporting. The results produced by our data analytics staff offer an objective assessment of system and procedural compliance with mandated court orders.

What interests do you have outside of work?
