Beth Anne Compton, JD
Regional Director for Compliance and Monitoring
Prior to joining AMI, Ms. Compton served approximately seven years as General Counsel for the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice. She also served as the agency’s Ethics Officer and liaison to the Office of the Executive Inspector General and external auditors.
Previously Ms. Compton practiced law in the state of Indiana. Her experience includes serving as Deputy Attorney General and Section Chief, managing investigations of health care consumer complaints and referrals for prosecution of health care providers before regulatory agencies. She later served as Executive Director of the Indiana Health Professions Bureau (now the Professional Licensing Agency) providing staffing and administrative and policy support for twenty-three boards and commissions that license and discipline health professionals and entities. She also served as Deputy Counsel and health policy advisor to Indiana’s Governor Frank O’Bannon.
As an attorney in private practice, Ms. Compton represented clients including healthcare providers in litigation, which included administrative and regulatory prosecutions and appeals, and in credentialing and peer-review matters.
