AMI Sponsors NAFUSA 2017 Annual Conference in DC, October 18 – 20

Affiliated Monitors, Inc. (“AMI”) will be sponsoring the 2017 National Association of Former United States Attorneys 2017 Annual Conference in Washington, DC. AMI’s will be represented at this year’s event by Eric Feldman and former NAFUSA president Donald Stern.

The conference will begin with a cocktail reception on Wednesday evening, October 18, 2017, on the Jones Day rooftop. Golf will be available on Wednesday morning at the Army Navy course in Arlington VA, on a first come first served basis to the first 28 to register.

On Thursday morning President Bart Daniel will call the conference to order and introduce our sponsors. Following the traditional roundhouse introduction of members, will be the presentation of the J. Michael Bradford Award to the AUSA of the year, Evan Norris of the EDNY. The morning program will close with a panel discussion of the False Claims Act, with Jack Selden, Michael Cranston, Jack Boese, Bill Nettles, and Carmen Ortiz. On Thursday afternoon, NAFUSA members will enjoy a “Day at Justice”, with discussions with leading DOJ officials. On Thursday evening, various administration classes will hold their reunions.

Friday morning’s CLE program will begin “Ethics Oversight at DOJ: A Federal Judge and DOJ Watchdogs Discuss the Challengers of the Day” with U.D. District Judge James Emanuel Boasberg, DOJ IG Michael Horowitz, Associate Deputy AG Scott Schools, and OPR Director Robin Ashton. This year’s Supreme Court update will be moderated by Adam Liptak of the New York Times and panelists Ted Olson, Paul Clement, and Neal Katyal. The morning will close with a panel discussion on The Impact of Social Media on Investigations and Litigation, moderated by Jay Stephens with Paula Hannaford-Agor, Judge Herbert B. Dixon and Demian Ahn. On Friday afternoon, we will enjoy a luncheon cruise on the Potomac River. The conference will close with a Friday evening banquet and business meeting, featuring keynote speaker DeMaurice Smith, Executive Director of the NFL Players’ Association.
